2021 Year In Review

A year that brought back a bit of normalcy to the racing and sales calendar, 2021 has been highlighted by 57 stakes wins for our clients, a total which includes 18 graded stakes wins and 4 individual G1 winners.
Those G1 winners include Fasig-Tipton October yearling purchase JACK CHRISTOPHER who went 2 for 2 on the year and earned a 102 Beyer in his G1 Champagne romp for owners Jim Bakke, Gerald Isbister, Coolmore and Peter Brant, the highest number for any 2yo this year.
The group of G1 winners included private purchase GOING GLOBAL who showed herself to be one of the best turf fillies of her generation when taking the G1 Del Mar Oaks for Michael Dubb who joined original owners CYBT, Saul Gevertz, Ray Pagano and Michael Nentwig during the spring.
Private purchase ROCKEMPEROR (IRE) took his game to a new level at Belmont Park this fall, taking the G1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic for owners Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb, Wonder Stables, Michael Kisber and Michael Caruso, beating a field that included four G1Ws.
Belmont Stakes day started with a bang this year as private purchase DRAIN THE CLOCK beat Jackie’s Warrior in the G1 Woody Stephens for Madaket Stables and Wonder Stables, who joined original owner and breeder Slam Dunk Racing before his win in the G3 Swale in January.
The BSW/Crow Colts Group debuted at this year’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale, purchasing 24 colts between that sale, Keeneland September and Fasig-Tipton October. The haul was highlighted by the Street Sense – Critikal Reason colt (pictured above) who was purchased for $1 million at Keeneland September.
The group also purchased a Quality Road colt out of Cara Marie for $500,000 (above), which is owned in partnership with China Horse Club as well as an Uncle Mo colt out of Catch My Drift for $450,000 (below).
All 25 colts are now residing at Paul Sharp’s farm in Williston, FL, and we are excited to see them hit the track next spring and summer.
