Belmont Weekend Yields Several G1 Chances

Consistently one of the strongest racing weekends of the year outside of Breeders’ Cup Friday & Saturday, this year’s Belmont Stakes weekend is no different as our clients will be represented by five starters in Grade 1 events including private purchase MISS BRAZIL who goes in search of her first graded stakes score in Saturday’s G1 Acorn for owners Team D and Madaket Stables where she will be taking on Siena Farm and Blazing Meadows Farm’s G1 winning DAYOUTOFTTHEOFFICE.

Private purchase DRAIN THE CLOCK will contest the G1 Woody Stephens for owners Slam Dunk Racing, Madaket Stables, Wonder Stable and Michael Nentwig following his easy success in the G3 Bay Shore last out at Aqueduct. The three year old son of Maclean’s Music is a perfect five for five around one turn.

On the turf, private purchase ZOFELLE (IRE) will be looking for her first G1 win in the Just a Game where she will be facing a full and loaded field for owner Heider Family Stables. She was a narrowly beaten 3rd in the G2 Distaff Turf Mile last out at Churchill and she looks to get a better pace setup in this event.

Private purchase ROCKEMPEROR (IRE) takes his chance in the G1 Manhattan where he will be looking to avenge last year’s 2nd place finish for owners Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb, Michael Kisber, Wonder Stable and Bethlehem Stables. ROCKEMPEROR (IRE) began his season with a 3rd place finish in the G2 Fort Marcy over this same turf course.

Today, Gary Barber’s I GET IT captured the Sanibel Island fresh off the private purchase in March and now lines up in the G3 Wonder Again after receiving a brief freshening. The three year old daughter of Get Stormy has five wins in nine start after being well trained by former trainer Ron Spatz.
