Three Day Weekend Brings More Graded Opportunities for BSW Clients

Five BSW connected horses will take their spots in stakes races this weekend, including when Champion British Idiom makes her three-year-old debut in Saturday’s G2 Rachel Alexandra at Fair Grounds.

 

A $40,000 BSW public auction purchase, British Idiom will be looking to maintain her perfect record for Stuart Grant’s The Elkstone Group, Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables and Bethlehem Stables. The recently crowned Champion Two Year Old Filly is 2019 will break from post position #6 in the seven horse field.

Directly after that race, Mr. Monomoy will be looking to build on his 3rd place finish in last month’s G3 Lecomte for owners Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb and Doheny Racing Stable, when he lines up in thee first division of the G2 Risen Star. The half-brother to Champion Monomoy Girl has never regressed in four career starts and will be looking to add to his point total on the Road to the Kentucky Derby leaderboard.

Earlier in the card, recent BSW private purchase Zofelle will try to make it two for two since being acquired on behalf of Heider Family Stables after her big turn of foot put her in the winner’s circle for her victory in the Pago Hop at the end of December. The four-year-old daughter of Zoffany is listed as a 7/2 morning line second choice for the Albert M. Stall Memorial which will go as race 6.

At Laurel Park, BSW private purchase Needs Supervision will take her place in the gate in the G3 Barbara Fritchie for owners Howling Pigeon Farms, LLC, Gary Barber, Wachtel Stable and Madaket Stables after a good 2nd place finish in a stake last time out. The four-year-old daughter of Paynter was a dual stakes winner in 2019 and will be looking for her first graded success on Saturday.

On Monday at Oaklawn Park, Warrior’s Charge will make his long awaited return to graded stakes company for owners Ten Strike Racing and Madaket Stables when taking on a talented field in the G3 Razorback. The four-year-old son of Munnings made a successful return to the races in December at Fair Grounds when taking a first level allowance by two lengths over next out G3 Louisiana Stakes 3rd place finisher Gun It.

Also on Monday at Oaklawn, three-year-olds will take center stage in the G3 $750,000 Southwest Stakes, a race that features two BSW connected horses.

 

Wells Bayou, a BSW public auction purchase on behalf of Lance and Clint Gasaway, makes his graded stakes debut on the heels of an impressive runaway allowance victory over the Oaklawn dirt on January 26th. The son of Lookin At Lucky is two for three in his young career and will be breaking from the rail.

On the far outside, Answer In will be looking to avenge his Springboard Mile defeat for owners Robert LaPenta and Madaket Stables. The son of Dialed In fell a head short of fellow G3 Southwest entrant Shoplifted in the Remington Park feature and will be making his three-year-old debut in this spot as the morning line 3/1 favorite.
