BSW Clients Look for More Stakes Successes to Start 2020

BSW clients are gearing up for the first big weekend of the year, with multiple stakes entries across the country.

Down at the Fair Grounds, Mr. Monomoy will be among a field of 14 in the G3 Lecomte, Louisiana’s first stop on the Road to the Kentucky Derby. The three-year-old half-brother to Champion Monomoy Girl will be breaking from post position #2 for owners Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb and Doheny Racing Stable.

At Aqueduct, multiple G1 winner Mind Control returns to the races for the first time since his win in the G1 Allen Jerkens when contesting the G3 Toboggan for owners Red Oak Stable and Madaket Stables. The four-year-old son of Stay Thirsty was given the rest of 2019 off after that victory, having been in training continuously since May of 2018.

Needs Supervision makes her four-year-old debut at Laurel Park on Saturday in the What a Summer Stakes where she is an 8-5 morning line favorite. The BSW private purchase on behalf of Madaket Stables, joining original owner Howling Pigeon Farms, took down two stakes victories in 2019, including the Silverbulletday at the Fair Grounds in January and more recently the Safely Kept Stakes at Laurel at the end of November.

On Sunday at Aqueduct, Bellera, a recent BSW private purchase on behalf of Madaket Stables and Doheny Racing Stables, joining original owner Mathis Stable, will take her spot in the Ladies Handicap, fresh off a victory in the G3 Comely at the end of November.
