Crow-Sharp Pinhook Venture Profitable for 3rd Year Running

Liz Crow and Paul Sharp’s pinhook venture has become profitable for the third year in a row after good results at this week’s Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two Year Old in Training Sale.

The venture’s American Pharoah colt out of the Tapit mare, Our Love Tap, sold for $530,000 to agent Josh Stevens on behalf of Tom Durant. He will be trained by Bret Calhoun. The colt was originally purchased by the partnership at Keeneland September last year for $200,000 out of Book 1.
After a few good results at the OBS April Sale, including a Temple City colt bought for $75,000 and sold for $325,000, and a Mission Impazible colt, originally bought for $65,000 and sold for $205,000, the venture came into the sale at Timonium with profit in it’s sight.
The venture still has four horses left to sell at OBS June, and with the partnership already showing a profit, everything to be sold from here on out will only add to the return on investment.
