BSW Clients Enjoy 4 Stakes Wins on Derby Weekend; Kumin Tallies 50 G1Ws

Derby Weekend started strong for our partners with WORLD OF TROUBLE posting his 6th straight triple-digit Beyer to win the G2 Turf Sprint (104) for owners Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables and Bethlehem Stables. Win this win, G1W WORLD OF TROUBLE increased his earnings to $1,043,300.

The next day, MIA MISCHIEF took the $500,000 G1 Humana Distaff in style marking the first G1 win for the 4yo daughter of Into Mischief, owned by Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt, Heider Family Stables and Madaket Stables. BSW Bloodstock privately purchased an interest in the filly on behalf of Madaket Stables and Heider Family Stables prior to her first Graded Stakes win in 2018’s G2 Eight Bells.

Stalking the hot-pace set by Amy’s Challenge, MIA MISCHIEF easily took control at the top of the stretch and pulled away to win by 1 3/4 lengths putting away G1W Marley’s Freedom and G1W Spiced Perfection to earn a lifetime top 99 Beyer. This historic victory on one of racing’s biggest days gave BSW management client Sol Kumin his 50th G1 win.

Shortly thereafter, OLYMPICO made his U.S. debut a winning one in the G3 Fort Marcy at Belmont Park. Breaking last of all, the Chad Brown trainee mowed down a talented field over a rain-soaked turf course including G1W Robert Bruce to earn a 102 Beyer for owners Madaket Stables, Mike Dubb, Bethlehem Stables and Wonder Stables (Marc and Joe Lore). OLYMPICO’s win in the G3 Fort Marcy marks new management clients Marc and Joe Lore’s first win!

Finally, TDN Rising Star and G2W HAWKISH picked up the first win of his 4yo season in the Cliff Hanger Stakes at Monmouth Park. At 3, HAWKISH was deemed a TDN Rising Star in his debut and went on to win the G2 Penn Mile. After a winter freshening, he came back to finish a close 2nd in the G3 Appleton Stakes at Gulfstream Park and found the winners circle in his 2nd start off of the layoff Derby Weekend at Monmouth for trainer Jimmy Toner and owners Bob LaPenta, AJ Suited Racing Stable and Madaket Stables.
