BSW Public Auction Purchase Shines on Pegasus Day

Stormy Victoria, a BSW Public Auction purchase from the 2015 Arqana ‘Arc de Triomphe’ Sale, earned her black-type diploma on Saturday at Gulfstream Park, only one race before the $16 million Pegasus World Cup.

Employing her usual strategy of breaking slowly, she stalked the field, swung widest of all into the stretch and flew down the middle of the track to beat G1W Celestine in the South Beach Stakes while earning an 98 Beyer. She is already G2 placed and will target Graded Stakes races for a big 2018.

On Friday, another BSW Public Auction purchase yielded a quick return in investment. Bold Prophet, purchased for $85,000 at the 2017 Keeneland November Sale by Liz Crow on behalf of Steve Landers, broke his maiden in a $75,000 Maiden Special Weight. It was first start back to the track under new trainer Brad Cox.
