Powerhouse Performances – Midnight Bisou 2nd in Saudi Cup, Mr Freeze Wins G2 Gulfstream Park Mile

Saturday featured a couple of outstanding performances for BSW related horses, both internationally and domestically.

Midnight Bisou, last year’s Champion Older Female Dirt horse, was shipped halfway across the world to take on males for the first time in the inaugural running of the $20,000,000 Saudi Cup and she did not disappoint. Privately purchased on behalf of Madaket Stables in the spring of 2018, joining original owners Bloom Racing and Allen Racing, Midnight Bisou put on a show we’ll never forget, unleashing her electric turn of foot down the stretch to take 2nd, beaten just 3/4 of a length in the world’s richest race.

The five-year-old mare turned in a winning effort and though she fell just short, she picked up a $3.5 million check for her performance.

At Gulfstream Park, management client Jim Bakke got to witness a career best performance from Mr Freeze who took no prisoners when taking down the G2 Gulfstream Park Mile by three lengths, earning a career best 107 Beyer Speed Figure in the process. The five-year-old son of To Honor and Serve has been in great form since the middle of 2019 and will now look towards a potential trip to Dubai for the $1.5 million G2 Godolphin Mile.
