BSW Clients Close out September with a Bang

September was a big month for BSW clientele and this past weekend was no exception.

On the west coast, Eight Rings captured the G1 American Pharoah at Santa Anita on Friday, marking himself as one of the favorites for next month’s G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. The son of Empire Maker went straight to the lead and never looked back, widening his advantage in the stretch to win by six lengths.

A couple races earlier, BSW private purchase Comical, came within a half-length of capturing a G1 herself, with a gutsy second place finish to division leader Bast in the G1 Chandelier. The daughter of Into Mischief was previously a G3 winner in Saratoga before finishing 3rd in the G1 Del Mar Debutante. She heads next to the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.

On Saturday, Midnight Bisou continued her historic year with a seventh straight win, this time in the G2 Beldame at Belmont, coming home 3 1/4 lengths in front. The BSW private acquisition on behalf of Madaket, joining original owners Bloom Racing and Allen Racing, sat comfortably just off the pace before find another gear and kicking away in the stretch. She is already at Santa Anita to begin preparation for the G1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff where she will likely be a heavy favorite.

At Laurel Park, recent BSW private purchase Miss J McKay, who was acquired for Madaket Stables and Wonder Stables, joining original owner Maxis Stable, crushed a full field of two-year-old fillies in the Anne Arundel County by five lengths, earning a career best Beyer Speed Figure of 86. The daughter of Hangover Kid will likely be seen next back on the dirt in the Maryland Million Lassie later this month.

At Churchill Downs, BSW management client Jim Bakke scored a graded stakes victory when Mr Freeze regained his winning form with a 1 1/2 length win in the G3 Ack Ack.
