French Fillies Pair Graded Stakes Scores

BSW Bloodstock’s European stars showed their might this past weekend picking up a pair of Grade 3 wins for our clients. Both COLONIA (FR) and RYMSKA (FR), showed their might and impressively defeated two star-studded fields at Keeneland and Belmont.

COLONIA (FR) wins the G3 Valley View at Keeneland

At the top of the stretch, the late-running COLONIA was closed in behind a wall of 13-horses that had traveled the 1-1/16th mile test in moderate fractions. Jockey Joe Bravo had the utmost confidence in the filly and patiently waited until mid-stretch for a hole to open up in between horses when he gave her the final cue. She bravely surged through horses in the stretch to edge pst her rivals in the final stages.

Purchased in conjunction with the Mandore Agency (Nicolas de Watrigant) for owners Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb, Maurice Lagasse, Bethlehem Stables and Haras d’Etreham, Colonia is now a G3 Winner/G2 Placed in her 4 starts in the U.S and earned a career best Beyer for her effort.

RYMSKA (FR) Makes An Emphatic Return to Graded Company

After breaking sharply, Rymska settled at the back of the pack along the rail. The ever-patient Irad Ortiz did not panic around the turn and gave her a great, ground saving trip tracking the front runners. Once angled into the clear for the stretch drive, Rymska showed her turn of foot to easily surge past the leaders to win going away under a hand ride.

Since coming to America late in her 2yo year, RYMSKA is now a 3-time G3 winner for owners Sheep Pond Partners, Alain Jathiere, Tom Coleman and Elayne Stables. Earning a career best and ultra-impressive 104 Beyer for her effort, she will point to the G1 Matriarch at Del Mar in December.
